Perry Central Elementary School has kicked off their annual Paragon Fundraiser. Information was sent home earlier this week with students in grades KG-6th. Sale will run through Wednesday, September 6, 2023. This fundraiser helps raise money for educational needs, student incentive programs, along with updating the media center and classroom books! The Lights On Afterschool Program pick up times are changing this year! Workshops start at 4:15 and after that time, students will be released at 4:45 and again at 5:15. Before and after 4:15-5:15, students can be picked up anytime! Also, in an effort to improve safety, parents will be required to come inside the building to sign students out of Lights On. Thank you for your cooperation! We're excited to see our students tomorrow!

Perry Central Youth Softball registration is now open, registration papers will be sent home with students the first day of school. Registration deadline along with payment is Monday, August 14th. This program is open to students in grades 1st-6th and Kindergarten will be taken upon request only. Perry Central All Sports passes for the 2023-2024 school are available to purchase online. Single Pass: $85.00 admits one to every sporting event; Couples Pass: $150.00 admits two to every sporting event; The Brigade Student Pass: $35.00 is for students only in grades 7-12. Don't forget our annual Back to School Cookout is tomorrow, August 3rd, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Cafetorium. There will be giveaways, prize registrations, free hot dogs, bus rides will be available for preschoolers, and students will be able to visit their classroom. A performance by the cheerleaders will be at 5:30 p.m. in the Dome. Weather permitting the Inflatables and National Night Out will be located in the parking lot behind the CTE Building next to the football field and the helicopter will be on the football field. Parking will be available across the campus, however due to the construction please park responsibly. Thank you for your patience while we continue to grow!

Perry Central Softball will be having a chicken dinner fundraiser on Saturday August 5, 2023. Serving will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the corner of 12th and Tell Street in Tell City. Dinners are $12/each and include grilled chicken, green beans and creek fries. We hope you can make it out to enjoy a delicious meal and help support our PC Softball team!

The first day of school is approaching. We can't wait to have our Commodores back in the halls! Kindergarten-12th resumes on August 10, 2023. Students in our 5 day Preschool program will begin on Wednesday, August 16th. Monday/Tuesday PK beings on August 21st and Wednesday/Thursday PK begins on August 23rd.

Incoming 7th Graders and Parents are invited to attend 7th Grade Orientation on Tuesday, August 1st at 6:00 pm. The evening will consist of a presentation along with time to visit the junior high building, classrooms and practice opening lockers. Cafetorium doors will be open no more than 15 minutes before the presentation.

The varsity baseball team had an unforgettable season, achieving remarkable milestones and showcasing their talent and dedication to the game. With a final record of 16-8, the team's hard work paid off as they ended the season with the well-deserved title of both conference and sectional champions! The season began with a strong start, and the team quickly established their dominance in the PLAC. Their outstanding performance led them to become undefeated in conference games. In addition to this, the team built an 11-game win streak. These victories not only showcased their skills but also demonstrated their ability to work together as a cohesive unit. However, their success didn't stop there. They continued to excel and made history by securing the first-ever baseball sectional title in Perry Central history. In route to this, the team knocked out both 2A ranked #1 Forest Park and 2A ranked #8 North Posey. These achievements were a testament to their relentless determination and perseverance throughout the season. The players' commitment to never giving up, grinding every at-bat, every defensive play, and every inning of the game paid off in the most rewarding way possible. One of the key factors contributing to the team's success in sectional play was their exponential growth in team chemistry. The players developed a strong bond, supporting and motivating each other both on and off the field. This unity and camaraderie played a significant role in their ability to perform at their best during crucial moments in games. The team's strategy revolved around keeping games close, giving themselves a chance for a big inning at the plate. By executing this game plan effectively, they were able to create opportunities for themselves and maximize their chances of success. Throughout the season, the team exhibited an unwavering mental fight and determination. Their never-give-up attitude and relentless work ethic were inspiring to witness. Coach Jason Hubert stated, “As a coach I will never forget this season. The JV baseball team had an impressive season, finishing with a final record of 11-5. The team's hard work and dedication paid off, resulting in several memorable moments and notable victories. One of the standout games of the season was the matchup against Corydon Central. Heading into the final inning with a 2-4 deficit, the team displayed incredible resilience, rallying to score 7 runs and ultimately securing a thrilling 9-5 victory. Throughout the season, the team consistently improved both at the plate and on defense. Their continuous growth and development were evident in their performances game after game. The success and accomplishments of the varsity team served as a source of motivation. They observed the achievements of their varsity counterparts and used it as fuel to push themselves harder. This drive and determination to emulate the success they witnessed in the varsity team fostered a positive and competitive spirit within the JV team. As the season progressed, the players faced the challenge of stepping up to fill the shoes of the departing senior leaders. One freshman in particular, Dylan Mullis, has a bright future in baseball, as he saw many innings pitching for the varsity. With eight senior players leaving, the team understood the responsibility they had in continuing the legacy of the program. Coach Jason Hubert expressed confidence in the ability of his players to rise to the occasion. He believed that they had the potential to embrace the challenge and excel in their roles.
